Research Triangle Park Rotary Partners with Alexandria Real Estate Equities

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC – As the Research Triangle Park Rotary Club celebrates its golden anniversary, the club is marking the occasion with a new home. The RTP Rotary Club is pleased to announce a new partnership with Alexandria Real Estate Equities, which has graciously offered us the use of 6 Davis Drive as the club’s new headquarters and weekly meeting location.

We are grateful to Alexandria employee and RTP Rotary member Sabrina Junkins for bringing the club and Alexandria together as partners. The real estate investment trust was a featured presenter last year in our weekly speaker series. That Alexandria presentation showed the firm’s commitment to the growth and success of the Research Triangle region through relationships to companies and community groups like the RTP Rotary.

For the last two years, the club met at the Research Triangle Foundation’s Frontier co-working space. We know of no other Rotary Clubs in the region that meet in co-working spaces and this location brought great benefits to our growth.  The Frontier exposed the club – and Rotary International – to new audiences including college students, millennials, entrepreneurs, and local professionals. We are indebted to the Research Triangle Foundation and our partnership over the last two years.

Our commitment to stewardship of the Park and its mission is linked to our 1967 founding by former Rotary International President and North Carolina Governor Luther Hodges. That commitment remains. Regardless of where we call home, the RTP Rotary Club will endeavor to serve the interests of RTP and to leverage our many gifts – especially its people – to serve the greater good.

As the Alexandria Center for Science, Technology and Agriculture takes shape, the RTP Rotary club is excited to partner with a group that holds philanthropy and commitment to community as one of the key tenets to its expansion. We invite the public to join us for our weekly meetings at our new location at Alexandria’s site at 6 Davis Dr. on Monday, March 13 at noon, and every Monday thereafter.
