The 9/11 Weekend of Service is a community-wide weekend of service coordinated by Activate Good with support from the business community. The 2016 event marks the 15th anniversary of 9/11 and will include service projects benefiting a number of causes and a commemoration event to honor those lost on 9/11 with volunteerism around the Triangle.

Since 2012, the 9/11 Day of Service in the Triangle has facilitated over 6,700 volunteer connections in service to over 50 area causes. During the 2016 9/11 Weekend of Service, we will mobilize 2,500 volunteers throughout the weekend’s activities.

We currently have six service stations planned, including:

-Red Cross educational project (Disaster Preparedness for youth)
-Creating blankets and scarves for the homeless
-Creating appreciation kits for First Responders
-Assembling cat care kits for Safe Haven for Cats
-Packaging care kits Urban Ministries
-Letters to the Troops
